We just wanted to remind those that have signed up that the end of the year banquet is fast approaching! We look forward to seeing you at 6 pm SHARP on Wednesday, Dec. 7th at the Manhattan Country Club. Below is a google image to show where there will be free parking available. We’ve been told not park in the Country Club parking lot, but rather across the street at the Kinecta lot or at the lot labeled “West Parking Lot”. (please refer to the google image)

For those that ordered pictures from Ralf’s photography–pictures were distributed this week so please check in with your student if you haven’t seen them yet!

Saturday Nov. 19th, CIF Finals

Please join us in supporting our boys and girls varsity teams this Saturday, Nov. 19th as they compete in CIF Finals. Both teams placed second in their heats in CIF prelims last Saturday to qualify themselves for CIF Finals. The boys race time is at 9:25 AM and the girls run at 10:25 AM. We will be providing bus transportation for any athlete that would like to go show their support. The bus departs from the Meadows gate at 6:45 AM with a return time of approximately noon. Any athlete that is not running in the race needs to bring their school ID and $5 for admission. Please come and show your support!

Thank you to all athletes, coaches and parents for making this such a successful 2011 season! Last Thursday was beautiful for racing and our Mustangs gave it all they had! Bay League Final results are available.

The League finals were: JV Girls 15 point finish, landing them 1st for the league, Varsity Boys placed fourth, and Varsity Girls placed third. Both Varsity Teams have qualified for the CIF prelims Saturday, November 12st at Mt. SAC. Congrats to both teams and we wish them well as they head into the post season!!

If you want to cheer them on, the Boys are racing in Heat 4,/Race 25 at 1:57 pm and the Girls are racing in Heat 1/Race 26 at 2:13 pm.

Bay League #2 Recap

The Mustangs tackled the challenging Palos Verdes Course Thursday with temperatures soaring into the 90s. The boys varsity came in third on a sixth man tie breaker with Peninsula. The girls varsity came in third as well. The boys JV placed fourth and the freshmen boys placed fifth. The JV girls had a strong outing placing first, with Costa girls going 1-2 and the freshmen girls placed second, with Costa freshmen Emma Lautanen coming in first. It was a hard fought race for all! Thank you to all who have stepped up to volunteer this season! We have filled all remaining spots.

South Bay Cup Round-Up

Mira Costa boys and girls capture the South Bay Cup! Both teams had a strong showing at the 10th running of the South Bay Cup. (See the second link below for results.) The boys varsity had a rematch with West Torrance and this time overtook them to take 1st place. It was a fun and rewarding day for both teams!
